Charisma Web Comics: Coming Soon!

On 26 February 2024, we’ll be withdrawing the Charisma Interactive Comics app from the App Store and Google Play. Don’t worry, though – none of your hard work will be lost! Instead, you’ll be able to view your existing Charisma Comic stories, and create new ones, using our brand new Web Comic stories and player. Here’s everything you need to know:

Do I need to do anything?

No – all your existing Starter stories will be automatically converted into Web Comic stories on 26 February. After that, if you want to play or edit one of these stories, you’ll just need to link it to a Charisma Pro licence. You’ll be prompted to do this the first time you select a Web Comic story from your Stories screen. Then, you’ll be able to view and share your stories using our new Web Comic player!

If you don’t want to play or edit a story, it will simply remain visible on your Stories screen.

What are Web Comic stories?

Web Comic stories are a new Charisma story type we’re launching on 26 February. Creating and editing Web Comic stories will be very similar to creating and editing Starter stories – there are no new skills for you to master! The main difference is that, instead of being published to a mobile app, Web Comic stories will be published to our new browser-based Web Comic player.

Web Comic stories will also have access to all of our Charisma Premium Features – so if you do feel like trying out some new additions to Charisma, you’ll be able to enhance your existing Comic stories with over 1000 state-of-the-art character voices and generative AI scripting tools!

Unlike Starter stories, Web Comic stories will need to be linked to a Charisma Pro licence, and will use credits. Credits are used up by playthrough events like replying to a character, as well as by speech-to-text and AI dialogue generations. Our one-month Pro licence trial comes with 50,000 free credits. After that, we have various credit bundles available, starting at $5. For full details of credit usage and costs, see our docs

Will my Comics look the same in the Web Comic player?

Yes – our new Web Comic player will format your Comic stories as they currently appear in the app, retaining any images and other media you’ve added to character nodes. It’s a browser-based player that works on desktop and mobile, which you’ll access directly from your Web Comic story. You’ll be able to share your story’s unique ‘Play’ link with friends and family, so they can enjoy your Charisma Comics as well!

If you have any questions about the switchover from Starter to Web Comic stories, drop us an email at or message us on Discord.

You can also share your creations with us on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. We’ve loved seeing your Charisma Comics on our app over the last four years, and we can’t wait to find out what you come up with next using Web Comic stories!
